My thoughts

Monday Morning “Reset” Button!

111.8
Why am I so attached to the scale? Didn’t I just rant about this yesterday.
I suppose because it’s an easy way to measure “success”.
This blog…who reads it anyway. It’s mostly for me to chart my journey.

The one thing i can say about this Yoli diet is that I LOVE the YES shakes. I’m down to my last packet. It’s like a drug. I called my sponsor to buy some off her until I receive my next shipment. She doesn’t have any extra. I’ll ask her again today because even if it’s just a few…gotta have them.

Why do I like the Yoli Shakes so much? Well, the taste is fine, but it’s really the way it makes me feel. Healthy, strong, good.

That’s what it’s all about baby!

WHAT???

So they tell me, can’t trust the weight scale. I stepped on the darn thing this am and it said 114.2

WHAT?? That’s a weight gain of 4 lbs in 24 hours? Yesterday was a meal day – I ate veggies…okay, a potatoe in the am w/ eggs, asparagus w/ dinner…awesome shrimp scampi that my friend made me for dinner – along with the best homemade meatballs I’ve ever had…and a glass of red wine.

Okay, I’ve had a few cocktails this past week, and red wine last night…so those things are cheating – but that should not trigger a 4 lbs weight gain…so what gives?

Um…I just went over to the scale again, and guess what…111.8

WHAT?? This just goes to prove my point. Those darn scales just can’t
be trusted. I’ll go to the gym and use their scale. I’ve been told
gym scales tend to be more accurate. The most accurate is supposed to be the kind that are found in doctor’s offices.

Better yet, I”m not going to be placing too much weight (pun intended) on the darn scale. I FEEL lighter. I FEEL better, healthier, stronger. And that’s what important, right? And the clothes fit better. That’s the real test.

Okay, off to make some scrambled eggs! It’s a protein day!

From 114.2 to 110.4 in 4 days

That’s not bad. 4 lbs in 4 days. Especially for my size – I don’t have that much to lose / burn off.
It’s Day 5, meal day. I get to eat veggies and fruit along w/ protein.

I’m feeling good. :)

The Scale Says…

112.0
So I “lost” .2 of a pound in the last 24 hours. I’m not looking for it. I don’t want to find it. It’s gone and I DONT want it back! LoL

I did notice I was low energy in the evening yesterday. I left my Passion drink at home, and was too far away to go get it. I didn’t want to buy one of those sugary, high carbohydrate “energy drinks” at the store, nor get a cup of coffee because I’m working on eliminating coffee from my daily habit.

I slept really well last night.

I’m so excited and motivated to drop these “last 10 pounds” of body fat and fit into those FANTASTIC jeans that I’ve been keeping in my closet for years because I believed / hoped I could one day fit back into them.

Through Yoli’s Better Body System, I will do just that!

One ingredient in the BBS that excites me more than anything else is the Alkalete. Rather than explain it here, go to my website and read up on it.

http://thelast10lbs.mybetterbodysystem.com/

Click on the Products tab and then on Alkalete. It’s amazing and I definitely DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!

This is Day 3 – meal day! I get to add low carb veggies and fruit to the menu. Yippeeeee! This is the KEY day because this food cycling is what turns my body into a FAT BURING MACHINE!

dAy 2

What a successful first day…until that darned networking event at the Trocodero on Sunset…free drinks. I haven’t had a gin & tonic in a little while and it’s my standard cocktail…is a gin & tonic considered a cocktail? Anyway,
I had two. :) I consider that a very minor cheat on this better body system.
The scale today says 112.2
That’s two pounds already.
I’m not putting much stock in that though, as the previous few days I was
eating whatever I damned well pleased. Which for me is not a heck of a lot anyway, but for me, a pizza is a SPLURG and I splurged.
And I eliminated.
Ahhhhh!
So today is day 2, and it’s again a protein only day.  I woke up and had my Passion drink, and about 40 min. later had my YES shake – which I really enjoy and look forward to.  About an hour later I had a turkey burger and an egg.  I need to buy more eggs.

I’m doing easy Yoga stretching for exercise.  With this BBS, it is NOT required that participants go to the gym, workout and sweat.  In fact, it is recommended that you DON’T work out!!  You heard me right, take a break!

Better yet, for those who feel repulsed by gyms, who hate working out, who loath exercise…this is THE BEST, MOST EFFECTIVE fat burning/weight removal program in existence today!

My first round on the BBS, I lost 9 lbs in 16 days and I worked out ONCE – 20 minutes on the cardio machine and I took it easy too.  So even though I like working out, I did not go to the gym except to weigh myself.  It felt odd, but it worked!

So now, I’m just doing light stretching.  Yoga helps with breathing and circulation flow, keeping the energy of our bodies flowing, etc.  So it’s a really healthful way to assist the BBS function without putting too much stress on the body while it’s working to become a fat burning machine.

More tomorrow…

Day 1

I’m re-starting the Yoli Better Body System today. I weighed myself at 114.2 lbs. I’ll take photos and post them (yikes). I know when I become famous, these photos will come back to haunt me. I don’t give a rip because these photos will help millions of people burn fat and get healthy.

Let’s talk about how I feel. I ate pecan pie last night. Big no-no, but it was sort of a last rite. I had been desiring a pecan pie since Thanksgiving. Forgot to get one at Christmas until the last minute, then the stores were all out. Forget about baking, I’m not that good. Couldn’t find one on New Years Eve or Day either. Stores all out. Whatever.

I found one at Ralphs yesterday. It was okay. Rather a let down after so much anticipation. So sugary pecan pie, New Years Day Champagne, and all the other goodies I was allowing myself to indulge in before today are all behind me now. Literally. On my ASS! And on my belly. And on my flappy, floppy arms like most women my age. That’s why we hate tank tops.

So there you go, it’s Day 1 with Yoli.

I got up at 6 am, drank my Passion Energy & Thermo G drink, and now, it’s time for my Yes Shake. Today is Protein Day #1

Cheers!

Preggie? Dark Chocolate To The Rescue!

Sensitive Pregnant Women Can Now Take Out the Guilt Associated with Eating Cocoa; a Daily Dose of Xocai Healthy “Dark Chocolate” is Medically Proven to be Good for You and Your Precious Unborn Baby.A recent medical study, at the Yale Center for Prenatal, Pediatric & Environmental Epidemiology at Yale University, women who consume Dark Chocolate regularly during pregnancy are 69% less likely to develop preeclampsia, which is a major complication with cardiovascular manifestations. Preeclampsia can cause swelling, sudden weight gain, headaches and vision problem. The condition is also harmful to the unborn child.

The study, which will be published in the May issue of “Epidemiology”, was led by Elizabeth Triche, the associate director at the Yale Center for Prenatal, Pediatric & Environmental Epidemiology at Yale University. Her study consisted of 1,681 women. In that group, 1,346 women had banked arterial umbilical cord blood which was available at delivery time. Compared to those with lower levels of “theobromine,” of that number, those with higher levels of “theobromine” (which is a chemical in chocolate) had a decreased risk of developing preeclampsia.

“Theobromine” has a positive effect on dieresis, which is increased production of urine by the kidney —myocardial stimulation, is a stimulation of the biological material transplanted in the heart during a particular phase of a cardiac cycle and vasodilatation, the relaxing of smooth muscle surrounding blood vessels. Chocolate contains magnesium, which has been shown to lower high blood pressure, and“flavonoids,” which are strong antioxidants, according to Triche’s study. However, she does warn against eating too much chocolate, which can lead to unwanted weight gain and other problems.

“The darker (the chocolate) is, the better it is.  The more highly processed, the fatter and sweet it is, the less it contains theobromine.” Triche is quoted. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,353399,00.html)

Hello world!

I’ve been musing around for a few decades now (okay, more than a few) and thank God I’ve had the sense to learn from both my mistakes and my successes.

Along the way, I’ve picked up a few (okay, more than a few) principles on living a wholesome life.  These principles can be categorized, and that will be the focus of this blog.  Wholeness being a balance of the best body wholeness, mind wholeness, and spirit wholeness.  Body, Mind and Spirit.

We are not islands – separate and uneffecting.  We are all connected.  When one part of the body suffers, the whole body suffers.  Allow me to share what I have learned.  If you learn something that would assist and you would like to share, please, feel free to add your comments.  Anything unsupportive and with malintent will be removed, but other than that, all comments are welcome.

Enjoy!
