Monday Morning “Reset” Button!

111.8
Why am I so attached to the scale? Didn’t I just rant about this yesterday.
I suppose because it’s an easy way to measure “success”.
This blog…who reads it anyway. It’s mostly for me to chart my journey.

The one thing i can say about this Yoli diet is that I LOVE the YES shakes. I’m down to my last packet. It’s like a drug. I called my sponsor to buy some off her until I receive my next shipment. She doesn’t have any extra. I’ll ask her again today because even if it’s just a few…gotta have them.

Why do I like the Yoli Shakes so much? Well, the taste is fine, but it’s really the way it makes me feel. Healthy, strong, good.

That’s what it’s all about baby!

WHAT???

So they tell me, can’t trust the weight scale. I stepped on the darn thing this am and it said 114.2

WHAT?? That’s a weight gain of 4 lbs in 24 hours? Yesterday was a meal day – I ate veggies…okay, a potatoe in the am w/ eggs, asparagus w/ dinner…awesome shrimp scampi that my friend made me for dinner – along with the best homemade meatballs I’ve ever had…and a glass of red wine.

Okay, I’ve had a few cocktails this past week, and red wine last night…so those things are cheating – but that should not trigger a 4 lbs weight gain…so what gives?

Um…I just went over to the scale again, and guess what…111.8

WHAT?? This just goes to prove my point. Those darn scales just can’t
be trusted. I’ll go to the gym and use their scale. I’ve been told
gym scales tend to be more accurate. The most accurate is supposed to be the kind that are found in doctor’s offices.

Better yet, I”m not going to be placing too much weight (pun intended) on the darn scale. I FEEL lighter. I FEEL better, healthier, stronger. And that’s what important, right? And the clothes fit better. That’s the real test.

Okay, off to make some scrambled eggs! It’s a protein day!

From 114.2 to 110.4 in 4 days

That’s not bad. 4 lbs in 4 days. Especially for my size – I don’t have that much to lose / burn off.
It’s Day 5, meal day. I get to eat veggies and fruit along w/ protein.

I’m feeling good. :)

The Scale Says…

112.0
So I “lost” .2 of a pound in the last 24 hours. I’m not looking for it. I don’t want to find it. It’s gone and I DONT want it back! LoL

I did notice I was low energy in the evening yesterday. I left my Passion drink at home, and was too far away to go get it. I didn’t want to buy one of those sugary, high carbohydrate “energy drinks” at the store, nor get a cup of coffee because I’m working on eliminating coffee from my daily habit.

I slept really well last night.

I’m so excited and motivated to drop these “last 10 pounds” of body fat and fit into those FANTASTIC jeans that I’ve been keeping in my closet for years because I believed / hoped I could one day fit back into them.

Through Yoli’s Better Body System, I will do just that!

One ingredient in the BBS that excites me more than anything else is the Alkalete. Rather than explain it here, go to my website and read up on it.

http://thelast10lbs.mybetterbodysystem.com/

Click on the Products tab and then on Alkalete. It’s amazing and I definitely DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!

This is Day 3 – meal day! I get to add low carb veggies and fruit to the menu. Yippeeeee! This is the KEY day because this food cycling is what turns my body into a FAT BURING MACHINE!

dAy 2

What a successful first day…until that darned networking event at the Trocodero on Sunset…free drinks. I haven’t had a gin & tonic in a little while and it’s my standard cocktail…is a gin & tonic considered a cocktail? Anyway,
I had two. :) I consider that a very minor cheat on this better body system.
The scale today says 112.2
That’s two pounds already.
I’m not putting much stock in that though, as the previous few days I was
eating whatever I damned well pleased. Which for me is not a heck of a lot anyway, but for me, a pizza is a SPLURG and I splurged.
And I eliminated.
Ahhhhh!
So today is day 2, and it’s again a protein only day.  I woke up and had my Passion drink, and about 40 min. later had my YES shake – which I really enjoy and look forward to.  About an hour later I had a turkey burger and an egg.  I need to buy more eggs.

I’m doing easy Yoga stretching for exercise.  With this BBS, it is NOT required that participants go to the gym, workout and sweat.  In fact, it is recommended that you DON’T work out!!  You heard me right, take a break!

Better yet, for those who feel repulsed by gyms, who hate working out, who loath exercise…this is THE BEST, MOST EFFECTIVE fat burning/weight removal program in existence today!

My first round on the BBS, I lost 9 lbs in 16 days and I worked out ONCE – 20 minutes on the cardio machine and I took it easy too.  So even though I like working out, I did not go to the gym except to weigh myself.  It felt odd, but it worked!

So now, I’m just doing light stretching.  Yoga helps with breathing and circulation flow, keeping the energy of our bodies flowing, etc.  So it’s a really healthful way to assist the BBS function without putting too much stress on the body while it’s working to become a fat burning machine.

More tomorrow…

Day 1

I’m re-starting the Yoli Better Body System today. I weighed myself at 114.2 lbs. I’ll take photos and post them (yikes). I know when I become famous, these photos will come back to haunt me. I don’t give a rip because these photos will help millions of people burn fat and get healthy.

Let’s talk about how I feel. I ate pecan pie last night. Big no-no, but it was sort of a last rite. I had been desiring a pecan pie since Thanksgiving. Forgot to get one at Christmas until the last minute, then the stores were all out. Forget about baking, I’m not that good. Couldn’t find one on New Years Eve or Day either. Stores all out. Whatever.

I found one at Ralphs yesterday. It was okay. Rather a let down after so much anticipation. So sugary pecan pie, New Years Day Champagne, and all the other goodies I was allowing myself to indulge in before today are all behind me now. Literally. On my ASS! And on my belly. And on my flappy, floppy arms like most women my age. That’s why we hate tank tops.

So there you go, it’s Day 1 with Yoli.

I got up at 6 am, drank my Passion Energy & Thermo G drink, and now, it’s time for my Yes Shake. Today is Protein Day #1

Cheers!

If It Tastes Bad…

How many of you can identify with this statement:

If it tastes bad, it’s got to be good for you.
If it tastes good, it’s got to be bad!
Cod Liver Oil
Fried Chicken…
See what I mean?
So what about Chocolate?
Did you know, back in the 1700′s,
It was common for a doctor to have
cocoa powder or cocoa bits in his
medicine bag?…
Does it make you wonder
what are the elemental properties
of Cod Liver Oil?  What makes it
so healthy for the body?
Let’s apply that same consideration
to chocolate:  What makes the Cocoa Bean
so healthy?
AND, what happened??
Why did Cocoa go from being
one of the healthiest substances
in the world to one of the least?

all those questions, and more!

Benefits Of Cocoa Butter

I’ve been doing all this research on various ingredients found in products I use. I’ve been using a body lotion  called “Queen Helen Cocoa Butter” for years, not realizing how good it is for me.  I just liked it.  My daily intake of Xoçai Healthy Chocolates also includes a healthy dose of cocoa butter, so I thought I’d do a google search on the benefits of cocoa butter.  I wasn’t sure what I’d find, but I am pleasantly surprised!

Cocoa butter, also called cacao butter, is the cream-colored fat extracted from cacao seeds (cocoa beans) and used to add flavor, scent, and smoothness to chocolate, cosmetics, tanning oil, soap, and a multitude of topical lotions and creams. Cocoa butter has been called the ultimate moisturizer, and has been used to keep skin soft and supple for centuries. It is one of the most stable, highly concentrated natural fats known, and melts at body temperature so that it is readily absorbed into the skin. Cocoa butter is often recommended for treatment of skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. When applied topically, it creates a barrier between sensitive skin and the environment and also helps retain moisture. In addition, cocoa butter contains cocoa mass polyphenol (CMP), a substance that inhibits the production of the immuno globulin IgE. IgE is known to aggravate symptoms of both dermatitis and asthma.

Pregnant women have long used to cocoa butter formulations to prevent and treat stretch marks, but this pleasant-smelling substance is added to countless other topical preparations as well. Lotions and oils containing cocoa butter are often used in aromatherapy massages to promote feelings of relaxation and well-being. Recent research indicates that massaging the skin with cocoa butter may help relieve stress, boost the immune system, and even prevent cancer. This is because cocoa butter, like chocolate, contains a lot of CMP. Researchers in Japan reported that CMP inhibits the growth of cancerous cells and tumors by reducing active oxygen levels in the body, and concluded that CMP inhibits the oxidation of LDL (good) cholesterol and the production of inflammatory cells; there is some evidence that the CMP in cocoa butter may also help prevent heart disease and ease arthritic symptoms.

Preliminary research indicates that CMP actually helps suppress excessive T-cell activity in the immune system, which could help treat conditions associated with overactive immune systems, such as psoriasis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Preggie? Dark Chocolate To The Rescue!

Sensitive Pregnant Women Can Now Take Out the Guilt Associated with Eating Cocoa; a Daily Dose of Xocai Healthy “Dark Chocolate” is Medically Proven to be Good for You and Your Precious Unborn Baby.A recent medical study, at the Yale Center for Prenatal, Pediatric & Environmental Epidemiology at Yale University, women who consume Dark Chocolate regularly during pregnancy are 69% less likely to develop preeclampsia, which is a major complication with cardiovascular manifestations. Preeclampsia can cause swelling, sudden weight gain, headaches and vision problem. The condition is also harmful to the unborn child.

The study, which will be published in the May issue of “Epidemiology”, was led by Elizabeth Triche, the associate director at the Yale Center for Prenatal, Pediatric & Environmental Epidemiology at Yale University. Her study consisted of 1,681 women. In that group, 1,346 women had banked arterial umbilical cord blood which was available at delivery time. Compared to those with lower levels of “theobromine,” of that number, those with higher levels of “theobromine” (which is a chemical in chocolate) had a decreased risk of developing preeclampsia.

“Theobromine” has a positive effect on dieresis, which is increased production of urine by the kidney —myocardial stimulation, is a stimulation of the biological material transplanted in the heart during a particular phase of a cardiac cycle and vasodilatation, the relaxing of smooth muscle surrounding blood vessels. Chocolate contains magnesium, which has been shown to lower high blood pressure, and“flavonoids,” which are strong antioxidants, according to Triche’s study. However, she does warn against eating too much chocolate, which can lead to unwanted weight gain and other problems.

“The darker (the chocolate) is, the better it is.  The more highly processed, the fatter and sweet it is, the less it contains theobromine.” Triche is quoted. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,353399,00.html)

What Rivals Penicillin & Anaesthesia?

If the Cacao Bean were able to file a lawsuit for the abuse it’s suffered over the years, it would win billions and billions in damages!!!  Such is the plight of THE most powerful superfood on the planet.  There is a reason why the Mayans and the Aztecs called the Cacao Bean the “Food of the gods”.
Xoçai Healthy Chocolates, made by MXI Corp, the category creator and world leader of healthy chocolates, are the Cacao Bean’s biggest advocate, and we’re making quite a case for the bean.  Fortunately, our key witnesses are some of the most respected, renown scientists, physicians and specialists in the world.
Our Xoçai Chocolates are high in Flavonoids and Epicatechins.

Excerpt from Science Daily, March 12, 2007“the health benefits of epicatechin, a compound found in cocoa, are so striking that it may rival penicillin and anaesthesiain terms of importance to public health, reports Marina Murphy in Chemistry *& Industry, the magazine of the SCIDr. Norman Hollenberg (Harvard Medical School) says “We all agree that penicillin and anaesthesia are enormously important.  But epicatechin could potentially get rid of 4 of the 5 most common diseases in the wesern world.  How important does that make epicatechin?…I would say very important”.Those 4 diseases are stroke, heart failure, cancer and Type 2 diabetes. The University of Utah
Clinical Trials on Xoçai showed that it:-helps decrease plaquing in blood vessels
-encourages healthy cholesterol balance
-encourages healthy blood pressure levels
-helps the body use insulin more efficiently
-increases protective antioxidant levels in the body
-promotes increased lean body mass…which promotes better metabolism
-increased a hormone that breaks down fat
-anti-inflammatoryThere are over 1200 studies published in other science journals and university studies on the benefits of high flavanol chocolate.  These studies have shown:

-helps promote respiratory function
-helps promote joint flexibility and ease of motion
-may act as histamine blocker
-increases serotonin levels
-encourages dental health
-helps suppress cravings
-encourages healthy elimination
-encourages healthy libido
-skin benefits
Dr. Norman Hollenberg of Harvard Medical School said in January 18, 2006 “Now, I’m hoping that people actually make a flavanoid-rich cocoa that will be available for sale and that people incorporate into their diets.  It hasn’t happened yet, but i”m hoping it will.  ”  He didn’t know that we had started our company in 2005.
Dr. Hollenberg was not aware that MXI Corp had already launched Xoçai Healthy Chocolates!  To learn more, go here:  www.medicalgradechocolates.com
